Winners Inc. Awards L$4.8M to NCSM Champions, Individual

Winners Incorporated, the leading betting company in Liberia, has awarded cash prizes totaling L$4.8 million to champions, runners-up, third-place finishers, and individual awardees of the 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet (NCSM).

The company had pledged support to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and provided operational assistance before the tournament began. Lofa County, the tournament champions, received a prize of L$2,000,000, while runners-up Grand Gedeh and third-place Margibi County were awarded L$1,000,000 and L$500,000, respectively.

The cash prizes were distributed to the champions, runners-up, third-place finishers, and individual honorees by the betting company on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Prior to the tournament's commencement on January 12, 2024, Winners Inc. allocated L$200,000 for operational assistance to the Ministry of Youth and Additionally, the company committed to providing cash rewards to the top performers in the football category, including champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers, alongside additional prizes for individual award recipients.

Individual award recipients, including the Most Valuable Player, Top Scorer, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, Best Coach, and Best Midfielder, were also recognized with monetary prizes.

At the award ceremony, Winners Incorporated's CEO reiterated the company's commitment to sports development in Liberia and highlighted the unifying power of sports.

Deputy Sports Minister G. Andy Quamie expressed gratitude towards Winners Incorporated for consistently honoring its commitments to the National County Sports Meet. Quamie acknowledged the company's contribution to the development of football in Liberia through its sponsorship of the event.

He commended the various champions and encouraged other counties to challenge Lofa in the upcoming editions to ensure a competitive and diverse sporting landscape.

According to Quamie, the company has added a new dimension to the NCSM, and both the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) and participating counties appreciate its support.

“We all appreciate Winners Inc. for its contribution to the development of football in Liberia through its sponsorship of the County Meet,” he said. “Today, it’s Lofa, but tomorrow we hope to see other counties stepping up to challenge for the championship so that it doesn’t become a one-team domination.”

Quamie commended the champions and encouraged other counties to challenge Lofa in future editions, promoting healthy competition and diversity in sports participation.
